History in the Hills

The original Hayloft homestead >>>

Tucked among the hills of the Laurel Highlands, The Hayloft has been home to the Dave and Betty Lou Svonavec family for 45 years. The kids once played in the groomsmen's cabin and a flock of more than 100 sheep grazed the grounds. Strip mined for coal by Svonavec, Inc. prior to Dave, Betty Lou, and their kids settling here, the property later received a reclamation award for its return to productive farmland and lush landscape.

An operating farm until 2002 that also raised cattle and pigs, the 150-acre homestead has hosted 50 to 60 special events seasonally, May through October, for more than 20 years now.

Memories in the Making

Our family, friends, and hundreds of couples and clients have made many memories on the farm turned The Hayloft - and we look forward to helping you do the same!

Now, we're also pleased to offer Dave's family homestead as an additional venue for your consideration. Following nearly a year of repair and renovation, the Heritage was opened to booking in late 2020 and has already proven to be an equally ideal setting for weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, and more.

Like our clients, each barn has a distinct personality of its own, welcoming the unique touches that make dreams come to life. No matter the occasion, we invite you to celebrate with us and are thrilled to share in your special day.
